Eden Project to host chocolate festival

Posted on 06th April 2014

The Eden Project is hosting a festival celebrating chocolate this Easter and will have a number of events and activities for visitors to enjoy.

The festival, which is taking place from April 5th-21st, is set to attract a number of visitors staying in luxury Cornwall coastal cottages as well as locals.

The festival called Chocolate Unwrapped will give visitors the opportunity to make chocolate, meet a number of experts from the chocolate industry and see an exhibition that looks at the history of chocolate, which dates back to the 17th century.

Experts such as Martin Chiffers, the master chocolatier and former chef at London’s Savoy Hotel, Aneesh Popat, who makes water ganache using no cream or butter, and Jim Campbell of Hasslacher’s, who makes gourmet Columbian hot chocolate, will all be giving talks at the festival.

Kate Francis, Eden’s production coordinator, said: “Easter is probably the most chocolatey time of the year and our Chocolate Unwrapped festival celebrates this fascinating, wonderful food.”
